Mainly went here for the standard egg rolls as others have started using tiny ones, and theirs taste a lot better. Went this week and they've switched to the small egg rolls too. I'd rather they charge more for the regular ones. Otherwise I find their rice to lack flavor compared to other nearly places. I alternated between better rice at other places, and better egg rolls here. Now there's nothing left for me, so I go to the other places with the same small egg roll and better rice with flavor in it. The spicy dishes also don't have much spice, even an 'American' level of spicy. Got a spicy dish this time and had to use left over spicy sauce from another restaurant to make it have flavor.

I ordered honey chicken and garlic broccoli, they were both bad. The honey chicken had almost no flavor and was over cooked. The flavor it did have was closer tasting to sweet and sour chicken than honey. It was edible but that's about it. The garlic broccoli was AWFUL. The broccoli tasted very bitter and overcooked but was undercooked in the stem pieces. The sauce was basically watered down soy sauce, no garlic flavor(even though garlic pieces were visible), no umami, no saltiness and even the sauce had the bitter broccoli taste to it. I've ordered this before at other Chinese restaurants so I know in general what both should taste like. I will not be ordering from here again. The restaurant was clean and staff was friendly that's why I gave them 2 stars.

Gator China is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Gainesville. I've tried several since moving here and their food gives me the same feeling and satisfaction I felt when eating from authentic family owned Chinese restaurants in South Florida. Everything is fresh and seasoned with the heart. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. I'm never disappointed when eating from this place. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Having been searching for 7 years for good Chinese food in this city. This is the best Chinese food in Gainesville by far. Food is delicious and doesn’t make you feel bad afterwards like many other Chinese food restaurants. Has the classic takeout style feel. Do yourself a favor and get the dumplings

Pretty good food, but their menu is different than the normal Chinese restaurant menu. My normal order is the Mongolian beef combo, but unlike every other Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been to, they don’t serve Mongolian beef as a combo. I beg. I plead. But to no avail. Why can’t you just put it in like any other combo? It makes me sad. I like them, I just really want this dish and won’t go here again until I can. 🥲
